New Conspirators Conference
Written by Mark Van Steenwyk : January 11, 2008
At the end of February, I’ll be at the New Conspirators Conference. You should come; the conference definitely leans towards praxis and brings together some of the most exciting streams of what God is doing in our midst. Here’s a description from the website:
God is conspiring through a new generation to re-imagine and create new expressions of discipleship, community, church and mission and to make a difference in our rapidly changing world. At this festival of imagination, we will bring together leaders from the emerging, missional, mosaic and monastic streams of renewal to explore new models, discuss tough questions and create ways to be a difference and make a difference in our churches, communities and God’s world. As far as we know, this is the first time that such a broad range of new conspirators have come together to communicate, connect and create with one another.
Main presenters include: Shane Claiborne, author of The Irresistible Revolution, Karen Ward of Church of the Apostles, Efrem Smith, co-author of The Hip Hop Church, Mark Scandrette, author of Soul Graffiti, and many others…including me. You can see the full list of speakers here.
I’ll be doing a couple sessions: one on “Embodying the Gospel in the Belly of the Beast” and one on “Creating Support Groups for the Jesus Revolution.”
This is going to be an amazing conference. The speakers look amazing and diverse. A number of folks from the Submergent planning team will be there to discuss the future of the emerging Anabaptist movement.
The deadline for early registration has been extended to Monday, Jan. 14th! Don’t miss this opportunity to attend at a discounted rate! The full conference is only $150 (less for groups). That is a really good deal for a 3 day conference. Register here.

Submergent is a network of leaders who, embracing the Anabaptist impulse, are living into the Kingdom of God in a postmodern, post-colonial, post-Christian world. Together, we will re-baptize the Christian imagination!
Anchored in the West Bank neighborhood of Minneapolis, Missio Dei is committed to following Jesus' way of peace, simplicity, prayer, and hospitality.
