Friend of…
Written by Mark Van Steenwyk : January 11, 2007
You may have noticed that I have two banners underneath my archives links. These banners declare that I am a “friend of emergent village” and a “friend of missional.” Lots of folks have such visual declarations of affinity on their blogs. But I am a bit annoyed that I have these banners. After all, I am a friend to lots of people. I don’t want to be exclusive or elitist about the groups I choose to affirm on my blog.
Unfortunately, there are many fine groups that don’t have such nifty little “friends of” banners available.
Therefore, if you know of any groups that have little banners that I can add to my “friends of” section…let me know. If you are a part of a church or organization or whatever, and want to create such a banner, I will seriously consider adding it and linking to your church/organization/whatever.

Christarchy! is a growing network of small groups for people who want to put the ethical teachings of Jesus into practice.
Submergent is a network of leaders who, embracing the Anabaptist impulse, are living into the Kingdom of God in a postmodern, post-colonial, post-Christian world. Together, we will re-baptize the Christian imagination!
Anchored in the West Bank neighborhood of Minneapolis, Missio Dei is committed to following Jesus' way of peace, simplicity, prayer, and hospitality.
The Missio Dei Breviary includes morning and evening prayers for one month. Edited (and freely shared) by Missio Dei, it draws primarily upon the Gospels, reflects Anabaptist convictions, and emphasizes missional commitment.

Guess I need to make a “friend of Missional Jerry” Banner!
LOL
Or you could design a banner that said.
Friend of sinners…
and then put our names beneath.
I’ve recently launched a Missional Apologetics site at http://missionalapologetics.com in addition to myblog (http://johnsmulo.com).
There’s banners available to support the site in the “support” section up top if you’re interested in linking. But I’d only want you to support it if you liked what you found there! Especially in my Missional Apologetic Manifesto, which your blog name reminded me of.
I just discovered your blog a couple days ago and am enjoying it.
Oh. Image tag doesn’t work. Here you go.
Thanks! I’ve added my “friend of people” image.
