MissionThink 2006
Written by Mark Van Steenwyk : December 27, 2004
Well, I’m going for it. I’m going to start working on a conference for the winter/spring of 2006. If you are interested in being a part of "MissionThink 2006: Navigating Our Mission in a Consumer Culture" then please email me. The planning is still in its infancy. I am looking for sponsoring churches, committee members, presenters, etc. Any help would be greately appreciated.

Christarchy! is a growing network of small groups for people who want to put the ethical teachings of Jesus into practice.
Submergent is a network of leaders who, embracing the Anabaptist impulse, are living into the Kingdom of God in a postmodern, post-colonial, post-Christian world. Together, we will re-baptize the Christian imagination!
Anchored in the West Bank neighborhood of Minneapolis, Missio Dei is committed to following Jesus' way of peace, simplicity, prayer, and hospitality.
The Missio Dei Breviary includes morning and evening prayers for one month. Edited (and freely shared) by Missio Dei, it draws primarily upon the Gospels, reflects Anabaptist convictions, and emphasizes missional commitment.

Sounds like a great idea, let me know how I can help….
Blessings,
Charlie
I’m interested.

Sounds great. Where’s it gonna be?
Well…I’m thinking Minneapolis, since that is where I live…but I would be open to some other location. I would like to find a church that has a large enough facility, and that is open to hosting the conference for relatively cheap…
Somehow it’s ironic, looking for a megachurch who is willing to tell its members to consume less…
So far, I haven’t seen that church. Nonetheless, the conference is a great idea and I’m sure the right venue will eventually be found. I’m thinking about it already!
