Submergent is afoot…

Recently, a handful of folks across the US and Canada gathered together to take some time to discern what the Spirit is doing with the recent re-emergence of Anabaptist thought. One could call it an Anabaptist revival, but so many of the people across the world that are coming to seemingly Anabaptist convictions aren’t influenced by the Radical Reformation. Indeed, there are Anglicans and Catholics and Pentecostals and Evangelicals, etc. embracing the classical emphases of Anabaptism (and adding their own helpful twists).

We, who are calling ourselves “Submergent” spent the 4th and 5th of July exploring what God may be doing with this re-emergence of Anabaptist thought.

So, after a few days gathered in Philadelphia, we’ve got some schemes…but for the most part, we recognized that many in this movement are already connecting. And so we’ve come up with some ways to foster what is already happening, rather than trying to make something new happen. We’ll share more about that later.

But lately, there has been some healthy attention drawn to this growing movement…
