My friend (and worthy blogging adversary) David (aka “dlw”) has O meu amigo (e digna blogs adversário) David (aka "dlw") tem stopped blogging parou de blogar . David is a brilliant economist/seminary student and it shows–he consistently (and intellegently) challenges me on this blog–most notably in my series “Church and State.” . I appreciate it. Aprecio-o. It looks like I’ll be flying out to NNU on the 5th of June and flying back on a red-eye flight on the morning of the 7th… Parece que eu vou estar voando para fora NNU em 5 de junho e de voar de volta em um vôo de olho vermelho, na manhã do 7 º…
I think it’ll be a good match, at least for now. Eu acho que vai ser um bom jogo, pelo menos por agora. I want something where I can teach and use both my quantitative and qualitative skills and right now it looks like I’ll be focused more on my quantitative skills at NNU. Quero alguma coisa que eu possa ensinar e usar tanto o meu quantitativas e qualitativas de competências e agora parece que vou ser mais focado na minha quantitativos habilidades em NNU. I also do want to teach Christian Political Economy someday, though it might be a number of years before such is offered at Christian universiteis/seminaries. Eu também quero fazer a ensinar a Christian Political Economy algum dia, porém, poderá ser uma série de anos antes de tal lhe seja oferecida a Christian universiteis / seminários. As it is, I still hope that Bethel Sem can switch to having two Social Ethics and two Syst Theology classes, but the admin seems resistant to that and the theology profs aren’t too crazy about prepping for new classes. Tal como está, eu espero que ainda pode mudar para o Bethel Sem ter dois Ética Social e Sistemas Teologia duas classes, mas o admin parece que a resistência e da teologia profs não estão muito louco por preparar para novas turmas. I’m guessing that Social Ethics classes require more prep-work as the key topics have a higher turn-around than with systematic theology and are more ideologically “hazardous”, alas! Estou adivinhando Ética classes sociais que exigem mais prepara-obra como temas fundamentais a ter um maior volume de negócios em torno do que a teologia sistemática e são ideologicamente mais "perigosos", infelizmente!
At any rate, I am really enjoying the book, you recommended to me, “The Great Giveaway” and do hope to join a house church in Idaho. De qualquer forma, estou realmente a apreciar o livro, é recomendado para mim, "The Great Giveaway" e fazer votos para participar de uma igreja em casa Idaho.

I’m enjoying the Great Giveaway as it is a nice middle-level theoretical ecclesiological book that is well tied to reflexion of practice. Estou desfrutando do Great Giveaway uma vez que é um meio agradável de nível teórico ecclesiological livro que está muito vinculado à reflexão da prática. I’d emph more the biblical roots of liturgy if I were him and how most of the early Christians were illiterate so liturgy was even more important and shd be held on to. Eu emph mais a raízes bíblicas da liturgia se eu fosse ele e como a maior parte dos primeiros cristãos eram analfabetos assim liturgia foi ainda mais importante, e terá lugar nos próximos dias para shd.

The nature and role of the liturgy in the life of the church is perhaps the key area where David Fitch and I disagree. A natureza eo papel da liturgia na vida da Igreja é talvez a principal área em que David Fitch e eu discordo. Not a HUGE disagreement, mind you–but a disagreement none-the-less. Não é um grande desacordo, mente-lhe uma discordância, mas nenhum-a-menos. I haven’t tried to engage him much on it (or really talked much about it in general) because Missio Dei is just in its begining stages of understanding liturgy. Eu não tentei envolver-lhe muito por ele (ou realmente falou muito sobre isso, em geral), porque Missio Dei é apenas no seu início fases de entendimento liturgia. We’re moving more in that direction, but without feeling tied to particular practices for their own sake. Estamos mais em movimento nessa direção, mas sem sentimento especial ligada às práticas no seu próprio interesse. I don’t want to do something out of some misguided sense of ecumenical solidarity–instead I want us to explore liturgy as a way of acknowledging God’s presence in our community, as a way of shaping us into Christ’s likeness, and in a way that is informed by the Tradition (but not enslaved to it).
