A Talk at Bethel Seminary’s Community Life Gathering: Embodying the Gospel in a Post_____ Era حديث في بيثيل مدرسة الحياة المجتمعيه للجمع : تجسيد الانجيل في عصر post_____

On Monday, January 29th, I’ll be speaking at Bethel Seminary’s Community Life Gathering. يوم الاثنين ، كانون الثاني / يناير 29th ، انا ان اتكلم في بيثيل مدرسة الحياة المجتمعيه للتجمع. I’ve been asked to talk about “the Post-Modern Church in the 21st Century.” Post-modernism has been talked to death, in my estimation. لقد طلب الى الحديث عن "ما بعد الحداثة الكنيسة في القرن الحادي والعشرين." ما بعد الحداثة وقد تحدثت الى وفاة ، في تقديري. I’m not sure I have anything new to add on the “analysis of post-modern culture” front. لست متأكدا من انني قد اضيف شيئا جديدا على "تحليل ما بعد الحداثة والثقافة" الجبهة. I do, however, love talking about the church. وأنا ، الا ان الحديث عن الحب الكنيسة.

As I understand it, part of what it means to be the Church in a post_____ era is a move from abstracted universalized truths to specific embodied truth. كما فهمت ، جزء من ما يعنيه ان يكون للكنيسة في عصر post_____ هو الانتقال من المستخرجه العالمي على الحقائق المجسده محددة الى الحقيقة. The modern notion that one can abstract and universalize truth out of its particular context is a flawed notion. الحديث فكرة انه يمكن للمرء ان الحقيقة المجرده واضفاء الطابع العالمي ولا سيما من خارج السياق هي فكرة خاطءه. We must disentangle ourselves from our modernist past with it’s disembodied ideas of truth and reengage the world as the embodied presence of Christ. ويجب علينا ان فصل انفسنا من وجهة نظرنا modernist الماضي مع انه disembodied من لجنة تقصي الحقائق والأفكار reengage العالم بوصفها تجسد وجود المسيح. The church is what it does, and does what it is. ان الكنيسة هي ما تقوم به ، وتفعل ما هو. We don’t DO mission. لم نفعل البعثة. We are missional. ونحن missional. We don’t DO apologetics. لم نفعل علوم الدفاع عن المسيحيه. We are an apologetic. ونحن على وجود اعتذاري. We don’t merely articulate the Gospel, we EMBODY the Gospel. نحن لا مجرد التعبير عن الانجيل ، نحن تجسد الانجيل.

Most of my talk will be in laying out this idea of embodiment as a way of being faithful in the 21st Century, as well as to deconstruct the idea that doing church in post-modernity simply means repackaging the church or becoming liberals. اكثر من بلدي الحديث سيكون في وضع الخروج من تجسيد هذه الفكره على نحو ما يجري من المؤمنين في القرن الحادي والعشرين ، فضلا عن deconstruct لفكرة ان تقوم به الكنيسة في مرحلة ما بعد الحداثة يعني ببساطة اعادة التغليف او ان تصبح الكنيسة الاحرار.
