a quick post from Urbana 06 سريعا ما بعد 06 من اوربانا

I’m hoping to post on my experiences at Urbana. انا تأمل في ما بعد على خبراتي في اوربانا. I’ll try to post something each day, starting today. سأحاول كل شيء الى ما بعد يوم ، اعتبارا من اليوم.

Some of you may be thinking: why should we care what Mark learns at Urbana? ولعل بعضكم ان يكون التفكير : لماذا ينبغي لنا ان الرعايه مارك ما يتعلم في اوربانا؟ I think you’ll be surprised. واعتقد انكم سوف تفاجا. Let me be honest with you: I wasn’t looking forward to going at all. واسمحوا لي ان اكون امينا معكم : انني لم أكن أتطلع الى الذهاب على الاطلاق. I’m not a big fan of short-term missions, and in my mind Urbana was a sort of clearinghouse for short terms missions. انا لست مروحه كبيرة من البعثات القصيره الاجل ، واوربانا في ذهني هو نوع من تبادل البعثات لفترات قصيرة. One of the first things I did after I arrived and got settled was to read about the different tracks being offered. واحدة من اولى الاشياء فعلت بعد ان وصلت وحصلت على تسوية للقراءة حول مختلف المسارات التي يجري تقديمها. I’m impressed. انا معجب. Many–if not most–of the tracks being offered have to do with domestic issues (especially urban issues). - الكثير - إن لم يكن أكثر من المسارات التي يجري تقديمها لها علاقة مع القضايا المحلية (لا سيما القضايا الحضريه). There is something for almost everyone here. هناك ما يقرب من الجميع هنا. Urbana is no longer about MISSIONS…it is about MISSION. اوربانا لم يعد عن البعثات… ومن حول البعثة. InterVarsity, it seems to me, seems to following a profoundly incarnational impulse. Intervarsity ، كما يبدو لي ، ويبدو أن أثر عميق incarnational الاندفاع. They aren’t simply interested in sending out missionaries to various places. فهي ليست مجرد المهتمه في إرسال المبشرين الى اماكن مختلفة. They are interested in how we understand and embody the Gospel wherever we are sent. انها مهتمة كيف نفهم وتجسد الانجيل كلما ارسلنا.

I was especially pleased to see that Shane Claiborne would be here, as well as Ray Bakke and Tom Sine. لا سيما وانا مسرور لرؤية Shane claiborne سيكون هنا ، وكذلك اشعه Bakke توم وشرط لا. Good stuff. الاشياء الجيدة. My beloved wife pointed out the obvious: the reason most folks aren’t commenting on my blog this week is because it is Christmas.
