You may have noticed my new "tagline" for this blog. I’ve noticed that many people have dramatic sounding taglines stressing how important their blog is…I’d like to make the case for why my tagline shouldn’t be interpreted to fit into such a category (btw, many people conversely have overly-humble sounding taglines that stress how utterly postmodern they are). Avrete notato il mio nuovo "motto" per questo blog. Ho notato che molte persone hanno drammatica cassa taglines sottolineando quanto sia importante il loro blog è… Mi piacerebbe fare il caso per il motivo per cui il mio motto non deve essere interpretata per adattarle in tale categoria (BTW, viceversa molte persone hanno troppo umile suono taglines che sottolineare quanto del tutto postmoderna sono).
If you know me well, you know that I think intentionally cheesy things are pretty dang funny. The operative word is intentionally. My tagline is a bit funny to me because it sounds so darn dramatic, thus qualifying as intentional cheese. Se si conosce bene di me, sapete che penso che intenzionalmente cheesy cose sono piuttosto dang divertente. Il dispositivo parola è intenzionalmente. Il mio motto è un po 'divertente perché a me sembra darn così drammatica, così come di qualificazione intenzionale formaggio.
Beyond the humor of it (though many of you might not think its all that funny) the tagline is pretty descriptive. I think it is our job as Christians to incite allegiance to Jesus Christ. Notice that I don’t advocate rebellion against the world. It is one’s allegiance to Christ that should cause one’s subversiveness. I think the church of my generation (I’m 29) sometimes blurs their counter-cultures, linking allegiance with Christ with elements of style. Notice also that I’m emphasizing the distinction between the church and society rather than our commonality. This is intentional. I have more in common with the anabaptist branch of Christianity than any other branch…and this tagline expresses some anabaptist influences. Finally, I do think the world has gone mad. Allegiance to Christ is sanity. The funny thing about that is to the world, Christianity seems foolish (at least it should if we’re doing it right). Infine, mi pare il mondo è andato pazza. Fedeltà a Cristo è di sanity. La cosa divertente è che per il mondo, il cristianesimo sembra sciocco (almeno dovrebbe, se si sta facendo a destra).

Interesting tagline, I’d qualify it, though by adding that all societies throughout time have been “mad” in the sense that they all offer challanges and oppertunities to follow the Lord. Motto interessante, io ho beneficiare, anche se con l'aggiunta di tutte le società che nel tempo sono stati "pazza", nel senso che tutte le sfide e offrire oppertunities a seguire il Signore. The Middle Ages was just as “mad” as the Golden Age of Greece, or the Victorian Era. Il Medio Evo è stato proprio come "matti", come l'età della Grecia, o il Vittoriano Era.
