In Defense of Norwegians دفاعا عن النرويجيين

I am often critical of the Scandinavian heritage of Minnesota, because it has created a repressed atmosphere of passive agression.  And so, I often poke fun of my Minnesota, since this odd repression can get in the way of the messiness of authentic Christianity.  However, today I was rebuked (a bit) by an إنني كثيرا ما تنتقد الاسكندنافيه للتراث ولاية مينيسوتا ، لانه خلق مناخ من القمع السلبي العدوان. وبالتالي ، فانني في كثير من الاحيان الوخزه متعة من بلدي ولاية مينيسوتا ، حيث ان هذه الفرديه يمكن الحصول على القمع في طريقه للmessiness الحجيه المسيحيه. ولكن ، اليوم كنت rebuked (قليلا) من قبل interview مقابلة I read in Christianity Today with Eugene Peterson.  In his interview, he relays the following: قرأت اليوم في المسيحيه مع يوجين بيترسون. فى حديثه ، وقال انه التبديلات التالية :

In church last Sunday, there was a couple in front of us with two في الكنيسة يوم الاحد الماضي ، كان هناك زوجان في الجبهة منا مع اثنين

Now, where is the "joy" in that church? والان ، اين هو "الفرح" في تلك الكنيسة؟ These are وهذه هي
dour Norwegians! dour النرويجيين! But there’sa lot of joy. ولكن هنالك الكثير من الفرح. There’s an abundant life هناك وافره في الحياة
going, but it’s not abundant in the way a non-Christian would think. الذهاب ، ولكنها ليست وفيره في طريقة غير المسيحيه من شأنه أن أعتقد. I انا
